Dragon Well fully lives up to its legends, and that in itself is high praise. In China it is praised for its “four uniques” : jade color, vegetative aroma, mellow chestnutty flavor and singular shape.

Dragon Well is picked in the Spring and is hand processed to give it a distinctive shape. It looks flat and smooth and is slick to the touch. When the leaf is infused and opens, you can see that it consist of largely of intact buds. The emerald liquor is light and delicious, with a sweetness as of new-mown hay - the distinctive "Long Jing" flavor and sweet aroma. It takes about 4.5 lbs of fresh leaves to produce 1 lb of finished tea. It is a tea to write poetry by.
